Turkey & the Islands of the Aegean – Cruise Summary

Move effortlessly between Turkey and Greece on this cruise through the Aegean, beginning with one of the most popular destinations in Greece, the picturesque island of Mykonos. Enjoy a guided walk through the island’s main town, or Chora, where iconic windmills and whitewashed houses catch the eye, or settle back for a leisurely panoramic drive to the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani in Ano Mera.

On the Turkish coast, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ephesus is home to some of the finest and best-preserved Hellenistic and Roman ruins to be found anywhere in the world.

Discover the city of Bodrum on a panoramic tour, or for more classical wonders, visit the ancient city of Iasos or the ruins of the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

The Greek Island of Patmos may be one of the smallest in the Dodecanese, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for with history. Known as the “Jerusalem of the Aegean,” Patmos has long been a site of Christian pilgrimage, but it is also beautifully breathtaking, with white villas clinging to steep rocky slopes.

Formerly the home of another lost wonder, Rhodes is not only one of the most beautiful islands in Greece, with three thousand hours of sunshine a year it is also the sunniest place in Europe. Stroll through the old quarter and visit the Palace of the Grand Masters, or enjoy a panoramic drive to the picturesque village of Lindos.

An island of extraordinary beauty, Santorini also boasts an enthralling history as well as delicious food and wine. Clinging impossibly to the steepest of cliffs, the blue domes and whitewashed houses of Fira and Oia are guaranteed to leave you with unforgettable memories of one of the most defining visions in the Mediterranean.
