Highlights of Turkey & Greek Islands – Cruise Summary

Experience a city like no other as you spend the night in incredible Istanbul, the gateway of two continents, for the stunning Topkapı Palace, the iconic Hagia Sophia and the famous Grand Bazaar, one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world.

Set sail for the ruins of Troy, legendary home of the beautiful Helen and the site of the infamous Trojan Horse, then discover some of the best-preserved Hellenistic and Roman ruins in existence at the UNESCO World Heritage excavations of Ephesus.

Relax in the lively beach town of Kuşadası, or take a panoramic drive into the hills of Anatolia for the ancient ruins of Priene and Miletus. In Greece, discover why the tiny island of Patmos is known as the “Jerusalem of the Aegean,” before returning to Turkey for the city of Bodrum, ancient Iasos, or the ruins of the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

In Rhodes, stroll through the old quarter and visit the Palace of the Grand Masters, or enjoy a panoramic drive to the picturesque village of Lindos, before cruising to the stunning island of Santorini, where the blue domes and whitewashed houses of Fira and Oia are amongst the defining visions in the Mediterranean.

On the idyllic island of Naxos, the landscapes of lemon and orange trees exude an invigorating aroma that seems to infuse the rugged mountains, lush green valleys, white sandy beaches and clear blue waters with an ethereal beauty.

In Mykonos, enjoy an evening stroll along the waterfront, followed by an authentic Greek dinner accompanied by a very special folkloric show. Then, as morning comes, take a guided walk past the iconic windmills and whitewashed houses of the old town, or settle back for a leisurely panoramic drive across the island, to the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani in Ano Mera.

Alternatively, visit the UNESCO World Heritage sacred island of Delos, mythical birthplace of Artemis and Apollo, a place of myriad ancient treasures, including the ruins of streets and shops, temples and markets, a grand amphitheatre and houses with mosaic floors, not to mention the Avenue of the Lions.
