Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Dresden

Fly from London to Berlin and transfer to vessel. Embarkation from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Day 2: Bad Schandau/Prague

Bad Schandau: Mooring 11:30 p.m. (night before)

Full-day excursion to the “golden city” of Prague with its Castle Hill, Jewish quarter and the famous Charles Bridge. Includes lunch on board a Vltava excursion ship.

Day 3: Bad Schandau

Bad Schandau: Casting off 2:30 p.m.

Excursion to the Elbe Sandstone Mountains with panoramic trip and visit to the bastion with a magnificent view of the striking table mountains.

Experience the unique panorama of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains from aboard. Enjoy a classical concert on board.

Day 4: Dresden

Dresden: Mooring 6:00 p.m. (day before) – Casting off 6:00 p.m.

City tour through the magnificent “Florence of the Elbe” Dresden with the Church of our Lady, Semper Opera House, Zwinger and Bruehl‘s Terrace.

Day 5: Meissen

Meissen: Mooring 8:00 p.m. (night before) – Casting off 1:00 p.m.

Guided tour through the old town of Meissen with picturesque Renaissance houses and a visit to the famous porcelain factory.

Day 6: Wittenberg

Wittenberg: Mooring 9:00 p.m. (day before) – Casting off 1:00 p.m.

Guided tour through the Reformation town of Wittenberg including the Luther House.
The importance of Wittenberg historically was due to its close connection with Martin Luther and the dawn of the Protestant Reformation. Several of its buildings are associated with the events of this time. Wittenberg is home to numerous important historical artefacts, as well as portraits and other paintings by Lucas Cranach the Elder and Younger. On the doors of All Saints’ Church, the Schlosskirche (“castle church” built 1496–1506) Luther nailed his 95 theses in 1517. During your visit of Luther’s House (a museum) you will learn more about his life and the meaning of his work.

Day 7: Magdeburg

Magdeburg: Mooring 8:30 p.m. (day before) – Casting off 9:00 a.m.
City tour through the historic old town of Magdeburg with its cathedral, Monastery of Our Lady as well as the “Golden Horseman” (dep. Magdeburg / arr. Rothensee).
Today you will explore the state capital of Saxony-Anhalt. Our coach tour makes its first stop at the historic Town Hall. A short guided walk takes you to the Guericke Fountain and the Old Market with its statue of the Golden Rider. You then re-join the coach to drive to the Cathedral, dedicated to St. Maurice and St. Katharina. From here we take a short walk to the colourful Hundertwasser House, also known as the „Green Citadel“.

Day 8: Potsdam

Potsdam: Mooring 12:30 a.m. (night before)

Disembarkation until 9:00 a.m. with City tour of Potsdam with a visit to Sanssouci Park, and transfer to Berlin Airport.

The excursions marked in red can only be booked on board. Mooring and casting off times are guidance times. We reserve the right to change itineraries and excursion programmes. If a route cannot be travelled due to low/high water or a ship defect, the shipping company reserves the right to take passengers on this route by bus, to accommodate them in hotels and/or change the route. In certain circumstances it may be necessary to change to another ship.
